Purpose
Fusion exists to reach unbelieving students with the message and story of God, and to help them grow in that relationship, through worship, community, and service inside/outside of our group.
Philosophy
We have tried to build Fusion on the idea of relationships! We believe that relationships are the key to life here in this space we live in. We were created to know and be known. Because of that, everything we do is centered around the idea of adults and students “doing life together.” Ministry happens in the every day common places. When we wake up to this reality and begin to live in light of it….life change takes place, and that is what we are about in Fusion. We embrace the story we find ourselves in, the stories among us, life, beauty, and truth, wherever we find it.
Gatherings
Sundays – Ethos
Sundays are centered around the story of God. We believe God has revealed Himself to the world through people, places and lives that are recorded in the Holy Scriptures. Because of this reality, we spend a significant amounts of time reading, studying, and discussing how it actually happened, and how we find ourselves in the stories we read in Scripture.
Wednesdays
Wednesdays are typically a high energy time with music, food, drama, and teaching on relevant topics of culture and life. There is an element of small groups that is interwoven into our Wednesday night experience as well. This is a time when students can feel comfortable inviting their friends to an experience that will be relevant, and not so “churchy.”
Retreats
Our fall retreat is designed to allow students and leaders to reconnect after summer. Often we focus on relationships and what it means to be a part of this group we call the Fusion. We travel to an incredible retreat facility, and get away from the pressures of day to day life in hopes of encountering God and each other in a fresh, new way.
Our winter retreat is planned with your friends in mind. This is a weekend away from school, jobs, homework, and the pressures of day to day life. Typically we enjoy in the beauty of the north and participate in some hard core winter activities, be it broomball, hockey, sledding, tubing, snow boarding or skiing.
Special Events
Tubing, skiing, snow boarding, lake days, Valleyfair, bonfires, camping trips, Christmas parties, service projects, mission trips, adventure trips, movie nights, sleepovers, all-nighters, scavenger hunts, and paintball are some of the many special events we take part in during the course of the year.
Service Opportunities
In Fusion, we value people because the ultimate reality of God is that He is a creator, and he values people. We live in a world that is broken and in need of restoration and believe that the good news of the Gospel, is that Jesus invites into the story of restoration and recreation. For this reason, we enter with every chance we get, the places where restoration, healing, mercy and grace are needed.
Our Values
Story - everyone has a story and we value it. God is the ultimate story and we find ourselves in the midst of his ongoing epic.
Love - love wins in the end...and we want to be a part of that revolution.
Passion - we have been created with passion and desire, so we embrace that and live from it for the purposes of restoration.
Integrity - it the deepest level, God is one. We want to be people that are whole, the same on the inside as the outside.
Community - we are created for relationship. Hardwired into the fabric of creation is relationship and so we embrace that.
Compassion - if nothing else, the message and way of Jesus is one of compassion...for those trying to follow Jesus, we try to live with this value.
Journey - we believe God is quite mysterious if we are honest...for this reason, it takes a lifetime of getting to know just a glimpse of Him and so we value and honor the journey of knowing God and following Jesus.
Beauty - God is the author of everything beautiful. We try to find the things that are beautiful in life and honor God with them.
